Model Railway Club Neu-Isenburg (e.V.)

Model railways connect – even across long distances

I spent five years living in the Rhine-Main area – a formative time in which not only my professional life evolved, but also friendships were built that have lasted to this day. One of my closest friends has long been an active member of the Model Railway Club Neu-Isenburg e.V. (MECI), located just a few kilometers from Frankfurt Airport.

When I recently had the opportunity to visit the club premises and take part in a three-day event, I was truly impressed – not only by the layout itself, but above all by the team spirit, openness, and contagious enthusiasm with which people build, discuss, and run trains together. It quickly became clear to me: I want to be part of this – even if I now live far away.

As much as I enjoy my own model railway room – this hobby really thrives on exchange, joint projects, and the joy of building something together. And that’s exactly what they live and breathe in Neu-Isenburg:

  • Collaborative layout construction, in a de-commissioned railcar!

  • Public events and exhibitions

  • Youth engagement and outreach

  • And lots of cheerful camaraderie

I can warmly recommend this club – not only to people from the Rhine-Main region. If you enjoy model railroading and are looking for like-minded enthusiasts, you’ll find a great temporary – or even permanent – home here.
